Rookie Green Families,each year our system (SYFA) is asked to recruit at least 2 NEW Official candidates for the GEJFA (Greater Eastside Junior Football Association) program. This is a minimum requirement to build the program. The reality is that we should have at least 1 New Official for every three teams in your program. (SYFA has 14 teams - so we would need 4 "new" recruited referees). GEJFA has classes to help educate the new officials. They work with them at Jamborees to give them on the field training.
So here is our challenge with the incoming officials. In 2010 we will have less than 80 total Officials and that's if all the candidates become officials. This may mean that our Rookie program may have only 1 referee per game vs the normal 4. The Rookie Green team needs to step up and provide a candidate and the coaching staff is looking for your help.
